A view from inside an RIT Men’s Bathroom Stall.
Did I mention how impressed I am with the resolution on my camera phone?
Or how jealous I am of those genetically blessed enough to grow a ‘stache?

After a lot of frustration with WordPress’s rather bare-bones WYSIWYG text editor, and even more frustration with copying and pasting from Word, I downloaded Editor Monkey. So far its running pretty smoothly. I definitely recommend it for WordPress users (at least until this functionality comes out in the next build of the WordPress tool).
Today I recieved official notification that I have made it to the second round of interviews for the full time position here at the School of Print Media. On April 18th, I’ll be in an all day interview where I’ll present my research interests and academic development and then get poked and prodded by faculty and students alike. I’m really looking forward to it (please read that previous sentence without a hint of sarcasm — as I am really looking forward to it!).
The Saratoga Martial Arts Festival was excellent. Not only did I get the chance to take some wonderful seminars, but I also made some progress on some Anthro research that I’ve been interested in for quite a while. Much of Sunday was spent picking the mind Sifu Sharif Bey, a very high ranking Hung Ga practioner. Hung Ga is a traditional southern Chinese system of fighting with close ties. Historically it was a revolutionary system, concieved and developed to fight against the Qing Dynasty. What is particularly interesting to me is that embodied in it are both fighting and cultural concepts. Hopefully down the road, I’ll be able to tap Sifu Bey for more research assistance. That said, Martial Art research is currently far, far, far down my list of priorities.
Also, for those who missed the Lessig lecture here at RIT, you can find a stream of it here:
If you have two hours, take the time to watch it. It’s excellent and thought provoking.
