quick notes

I’m sitting at my desk on a Sunday (which isn’t too bad). I’m prepping for a business trip to Atlanta tomorrow and trying to catch up on some back work. Yesterday I started to learn the Chinese Broadsword (which rocks). I also just got a key to the new school and I can’t say how excited I am about that. Basically I can go and train whenever! I keep coming back to how important the Martial Arts are for me. It really struck me while working slow sparring with Sifu Mark that they are such a total expression of body, mind and soul. Sometimes it really feels like I’m playing chess (with the exception that I’m both the conrolling force and the peice itself).

Pictures!

For those of you interested in seeing the process of building out the school, check the three pages of pictures that are up at renMartialArts.com. It shows the entire process of refurbishing our new school.

spent

I feel really tired. Guess the title suggestest that, huh? I didn’t sleep too well last night. A lot has been on my mind. This year has been busier than I can say and I feel like I’m drifting out of touch with everyone in my life. Bleh. And I just don’t know the best way for correcting that. I hate not being able to be counted on and I just feel that way a lot of the time.

ouch…

well, my legs are killing me. I’ve managed to get two great workouts in.

happy monday

I opened the posting interface for blogger at about 8.45am this morning and I’ve just gotten to a point were I could even write anything. Busy morning! I’m back to normal. Last week was spent recovering from the Martial Arts weekend, and everything that led up to that. The tail end of last week was a lot of fun. The High Falls Film Festival was held here in town and I got to see three films I’d been really interested in:

Today it’s back to the grind. I’m catching up on work here at kodak.com. Tonight should be interesting, if not painful. The school officially opens and I’ll start back up with Martial Arts for the first time in two months. I haven’t worked out since we began work on the school. And with the exception of an odd push up or sit up here and there, I haven’t exercised either. So I’m looking forward to class tonight with some trepidation (o.k. a lot of it!).
