Actually the better question is what the heck happened to my work computer. Last week it died. Dead dead. Like hardware crash. So it took a few days to get it back. After that I had to deal with browser issues. But now I’m all fixed and running Mozilla… I feel so hip.

Unfortunately I just got up and running and I really don’t have time to blog what’s been up. So instead I’ll placate all of you with one of those pictures I was promising. This is possibly the best picture I’ve ever taken. Or rather one of the few special effects photos that came out the way I intended. This was taken using time delay in a dark area with light sticks. The effect is pretty cool. BTW the photo links to a larger version should you want to download it.

+++HIPPEST: A Hairy Situation

So you thought the feng shui trend was over? Think again! Now there’s feng shui for your hair. Salons specializing in the technique are popping up all over, offering hairstyles that will clear negative energy from your life. As an added bonus, the haircuts, which cost up to $250, will also clear out your wallet.

works cut out for us

We began work last night on the new home of Renaissance Martial Arts. While Sifu and Coach plotted floor space, we tore down a temporary wall, moved a lot of odds and ends that were stored in there and started to tear down the drop ceiling. Unfortunately all I brought with me was a film camera, so you’ll have to wait on the before and after shots. Suffice to say we have our work cut out for us.

And I have my work cut out for me for the weekend. Top among those tasks is mail out my brother Glenn’s much belated Birthday gifts (and get Jenny’s much belated birthday gift). Glenns is the most pressing as he’s apparently already mailed out mine, proving once again that I’m the stinky brother when it comes to gift givin’.

I had expected by today to be at the new URL. Unfortuntately due to poor form logic and UI I missed the button for “free hosting” so I have to call their sales office tomorrow and square things with them.

I do have my new glasses and my new ‘do. Suprisingly, or not so, I don’t look all that different. I know a lot of people who are going to be disapointed. The hairdresser, heavily recommended by Jenny, thought that I looked good with longer hair and worked to clean up what I had rather than take a lot off. She even kept it longer than I had planned. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an improvement. Just not what I expected or what most people did for that matter. Some days I just feel boring.

Wow. Within two hours of the blog yesterday I got the first entry from my friend Heather! She’s definitely pushing a GQ thing… She also sent me this picture of the glasses she added to my picture. Any thoughts? Comments? (I really need to get that feature running) Or better yet, any other submissions? Check the blog below for detail!

not so talkative robert

Last night I was in Syracuse attending a Q&A session with Kevin Smith! Yup, Mr Mallrats-Clerks-Silent Bob-Daredevil-Green Arrow himself. It was a cool experience. Kevin started around 7.45 and finally stopped at about 11.30pm. Half the audience had left (thankfully it seemed to be the half that asked dumb questions) by the end. Highlights included a call to Jason “the Pimp Master” Mewes (also known as Jay) and Smith calling a girl from the audiences’ estranged boyfriend to help them get back together. In both cases the people responses were shared with the audience by pressing the phone up to the microphone. He told a lot of stories, dealt with tons of hecklers and stupid questions (hour one pretty much was Smith vs. every jackass in the audience), and shared a little wisdom. He also showed a video of outtakes from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Or rather he let it play while he snuck out for a quick smoke. All and all the night was a lot like his movies: undisciplined, a little too long, lots of genitalia jokes, a lot of heart and some flashes of brilliance.

While I didn’t get to meet him after the show, I did ask a question that caused us to have a short conversation during the show. Thankfully I stopped before the audience turned on me. Other people who did the same thing later in the night were not so lucky. Last month it was Rollins. This month Smith. I can only wonder what December holds.

The Turkey update will be posted a little later today. In the mean time check out kodak.com. I’m the Picture of the Day again! In fact the next few days are going to be all be my work. I do realize that this would be a lot more impressive if I didn’t work for kodak.com. Don’t rain on my parade, ok? Actually, today’s picture is one of the best shots I think I’ve ever taken! Check it out…
