i’ve lost it

I keep walking back and forth in front of kodak.com mail station hoping that the Acer will magically appear there. While I want it to come today, I have a feeling I won’t see it until tomorrow. Uggg… the suspense is killing me!

And of course I’m building this up way too much for myself. I’m just afraid it’s going to suck.

more blogging to come soon ’cause…

I gotta new laptop. Actually it’s a wireless convertable tablet PC. An Acer Travelmate c302. And it’s going to be really cool (I hope). I had been interested in Tablets since I saw one at the store a little while ago. I’ve been dreaming about a good pen interface for a while. And having a portable computer made sense for Chicago. So I’m really excited (although I’m a little concerned about the graphics capabilities as it has an intergrated video card). It should be here in the next few days and I can hardly wait.

I’m such a geek about these things. I’ve been doing tons of research and it looks like this will actually make it much easier for me to blog on a regular basis (I’m just not home enough right now). We shall see.

Sweet Home Chicago

Last week I went out to Chicago to see the school. No joke, it looks like I got into Hogwarts. The campus has a very old school academic quality to it: gothic buildings, giant wooden doors, ivy, and more nooks and cranies than an english muffin.

The end result of the trip is that I’m more scared and excited than ever before. The five month gap before I begin school just doesn’t feel like enough time to accomplish everything.

I realize that I haven’t been blogging consistently for at least half a year. I’m hoping this will change soon. Which is a bit of a cop out, since blogs don’t magically write themselves. But in a ll seriousness, between applying to grad school and other things, I just haven’t had much that I’ve wanted to share.

And quite frankly, sharing my opinions on world events seems like a lot of naval gazing. So for the moment, the posting drought continues. Though it does feel strangely good just to type this.

I think winters almost over.

matthew bernius: super genius

or at least inventor. I got word last week that a patent that I was a co-inventor for was approved by the US Patent office. Cool beans! Between that and Chicago you’d think I’d be feelin’ pretty smart.

I guess I do, I’m still overwhelmed and trying to figure out where this is taking me.
