Last day: Kodak

Today is my last day at kodak.com.

wow.

I really need to be sedated

well, the expected sleepless nights have finally hit. I’ve been cleaning/packing since I got home, with the exception of a half an hour where I desperately tried to sleep. I expect this is going to be an all nighter. On the plus side I can feed my occasional Howard Stern habit, what can I say… I’m a New Yorker with prurient tastes.

The apartment is more or less done. Mother nature has been helping in the cleaning process. I had a small flood in the apartment thanks to an open sky light. There wasn’t too much damage, other than the loss of a bunch of papers that I was building up the momentum to throw out anyway.

Purging is your friend is my new mantra. 11×15 really bring things into perspective. Also thanks for LJC for hooking me up with the Chicago welcoming committee! I’d love to get in contact with you folks!

I can’t believe that I’m leaving kodak.com in two days. Well technically one day. I really need to sleep. At the same time I’ve returned to the halcyon student days of “Wow, I managed to stay awake for 24 hours! MY GOD, the world is amazing and everything is so vivid.”

… I expect that around 10.00am I’ll be catching up on much needed sleep at my desk.

fast forward… about a week to go

gah.

gah. gah.

I still need to finish packing. I’ve downgraded to getting a trailer as my apartment turns out to only be about 11×15 (plus a cooking area, cloest and bathroom). Needless to say I’m doing my best to reduce my footprint.

30 passed uneventfully. See ya never again twenties. In the meantime I’m still waiting for the enlightenment that I believed was supposed to come with big round years.

Wednesday Web Watch

I’ve been sitting on a bunch of cool webstuff for a bit. So here’s a break from the usual whine and cheeze about grad school:

Life Sized Ugly Dolls

from the San Diego Comic Con for Jenny

And on the web site side: Homestar Runner dot com (home of Strong Bad) has rolled out one heck of a homage to Sierra games (creators of Kings Quest, Space Quest, and Leasure Suit Larry games). Peasant’s Quest is an amazing blast from the past. From the 8 bit graphics and sound, to the text interface, to the page name disk 4 of 12, they did an amazing job of recreating the feel of an old Sierra games. Give it at try and see if you can earn all 150 points.

30 days of work, and less than 30 till 30

time is beginning to fly by fast. I finally got my apartment in Chicago. And no matter which way I slice it, I think it’s going to cost me $1000 to move! GAH!… GAH, GAH! And that’s U-Haul. Like U do it U-self! I’m am not loving life at the moment. Drea had suggest that I get a furnished apartment and store my stuff. I’m beginning to think she was right.

No, check that, she was right.

And in general my mental state is all over the place. I have to pack, figure out how to move without going broke, take a trip to the west coast for a vacation, turn 30 (which will happen regardless of whether I’m ready or not) and then move.
